Why Cooking at Home Saves Money and Stress
I really do like going out to eat. The atmosphere. Being served. It’s really nice not doing dishes.
Going out to eat is one of those “habits” I’m working on. Each time I take the family out to dinner; it’s at least $50, without a proper tip. I leave knowing we could have had five dinners at home for the price of ONE meal.
The real thief is the meal delivery services. By utilizing door dash, grubhub, or Uber eats; we’re paying insane money to eat in our own homes.
And the wait times? Like, I can whip up a sandwich for dinner in less than 5 minutes.
The cost?! $70 for semi-warm, condensated food packaged in plastic containers.
In a steamy-dripping-wet bag?
With plastic Forks and cutlery?
No thanks.
I’m 100% done with take out.
I’ve “shrunk down” to dining out about once a week. At my heaviest; I ate out about every day. Somedays; twice or three times. And yes, I ordered from doordash a few times a week too. Because I didn’t feel like “going out”.
There’s a time and a place for everything. It’s all about balance. And making changes you’re able to stick with!
