How I Lost 200 Pounds: The First Tip That Changed Everything

Tip #1 — Portion Control with Smaller Bowls

Why Bowl Size Matters for Weight Loss

How I Lost 200 Pounds – The Tip Jar Series (Tip #1)

Get rid of large bowls

At the very beginning of my journey, when I was “definitely getting gastric bypass”. I made preparations. Because I wanted to be successful. I knew that after bariatic surgery, that I’d be limited to “toddler portions”

I had these large purple bowls that I bought at Target. They were “perfect” for desserts, ice cream, or cereal.

Come to find out, these bowls hold 4 CUPS!

Way too much capacity for a healthy serving of anything. I now use 2 c. bowls for cereal and soups.

For sweets, I have a “cute” 6 oz ramekin. My suggestion is to serve snacks and desserts from a ramekin.. You can heap it over, that’s fine.

But, truth to be told.. You’re probably not ever going to go over 400 calories serving from a ramekin, no matter what you’re preparing or how you slice it!

Portion control made easy!
