Tip #10: Wash, Rinse, Reuse — Stop Buying Disposable Items
Why Disposable Products Cost More Than You Think
Small Purchases Add Up Over Time
Disposable Items Create More Trash and Clutter
I do not buy napkins or paper plates. Or plastic cutlery.
I also do not buy dryer sheets.
I don’t even buy paper towels.
Cloth napkins, you can reuse! And they’re fancy!
Paper plates are the biggest waste of money.
If we ate on paper plates for every meal; our family of four would have $20 a month in “just plates”.
It’s nice having dinner on a nice plate. I have “picnic plates” that are plastic and colorful. Most importantly; they’re washable!
Everyday Items You Can Reuse Instead
Reusable Containers Instead of Single-Use Bags
Ziploc/storage bags are nice! But.. If you’re at home and dealing with leftovers. Use containers.
Kitchen Cloths Instead of Paper Towels
I do not buy paper towels. Most of the time, I use rags or flour sack cloths.
Dish rags wipe up and clean everyday messes. And they wash!
Use Dryer Balls Instead of Disposable Dryer Sheets
Dryer sheets are a total waste of money as well. Wool dryer balls, FTW!
How Reusing Items Supports a Simpler, Frugal Life and Helps the Environment
As human beings, as we spend our time, inhabiting the earth. The footprint we make leaves a mark. That mark is our own. To each their own; we’re all in this planet together. I just wanna make effort to good care of our environment. And not let the fish get stuck in plastic, knowutImean?
Don’t throw your money away on waste. Sustain yourself, sustain our Earth!
