Consume less, Boost Creativity.
Mindset Shifts for Minimalist Living.
Every day, I’m a continuing work of progress. A lifetime of progress, for a lifetime of mistakes.
Because, let me tell ya.. it WAS a journey. I didn’t “become that way” in one day. There’s changes that I’m making now, that I couldn’t even grasp or identify last year.
In 2021, After losing 80lbs from June to January. The ye olde “New Years Resolution” tradition had me thinking. Every year it’s “lose weight”. I felt I had a good handle in that department.
But, now what?
What now?
My resolution was “Buy less. Create more”. (Be sure to check out my 15 TIPS FOR CLEANING, ORGANIZING, FRUGAL LIVING, SAVING MONEY. Link below! )

At that point, I came to the conclusion that happiness wasn’t bought. It’s created.
Putting away all the Christmas stuff. We purged and reorganized the entire house. A place for everything, and every thing has a place. That way, you don’t have to go to Walmart or Amazon for something you already have 10 of!
We donated, trashed, recycled, gave away, and passed down so much stuff!
Each closet was organized.
Each cupboard was rearranged.
Every cabinet was systematized.
We switched around living rooms and furniture.
https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-1541118085222872The motto during purging was.. “If I haven’t used it in the last six months. GITRIDOFIT!”
“If it brings me no joy. GITRIDOFIT!”
“If it’s broken or not really functional. GITRIDOFIT!”
I was holding onto so much stuff thinking I might need it one day. Honestly, any time I needed something.. I couldn’t even find the freakin’ thing!
I was buying so much stuff because I couldn’t pass up a “good deal”. If something caught my eye, I couldn’t pass it up. “Ehh, it’s only $40. I deserve it. Work has been crazy lately and I’ve EARNED it”. Just like my excuses with food; the “I deserve it” card was used again.
I would go on shopping excursions for “fun”. Browsing through the stores, buying anything that caught my eye. Often spending $20 to $100 per store.
It was like Christmas!
To: Me.
From: Me.
https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-1541118085222872We deserve much, much more than whatever *temporary* happiness can give us.
YOUR belongings are not who you are.
YOUR home is your safe space. Your special place to unwind and feel most comfortable.
Clutter in the home is clutter in the mind.
Buying and acquiring possessions is like, “filling holes” in your heart. You see it, you want it, you get it.. It’s all yours! But, the joy doesn’t last forever. The next thing comes along, then the next.. Money is the shovel, belongings are concrete, and the hole is never-ending. But, some folks keep on digging!

Our (completely disgusting) capitalistic empire THRIVES on this mentality. Work hard, buy things. The more you can earn, the more you can have! This mentality has sucked the ever-living soul out of me for almost 20 years. There’s more to life than work. Possessions really mean nothing.
Time is much more valuable than money. Money can be easily made, time is irreplaceable. Value your time more than your money, and you’ll soon realize how valuable life is. Make the most of your precious time. Life is worth it!
Our hearts are deep and complex. Our eyes see a prize, we want it! It’s not until we realize that the prize is within us, that we can truly be fulfilled.
Less is much, much more! Be content with what you have. Be grateful for every moment passed. Be cheerful of what’s to come! Keep believing, striving, reaching, and accomplishing. So much good is coming your way ❤️
