Planning the Adventure
Last year, before Christmas time; my brother in law announced that he was filming in a new movie. After taking a hiatus; for a few years. We were excited to hear that he jumped back into acting.

Making the Comeback
Directed by Mark Polonia and produced by Cleopatra Entertainment.
Cocaine Werewolf stars Brice Kennedy
as “Jack”; a man who ravaged by cocaine becomes a blood thirsty werewolf! In the latest trend of “drug-fueled” thrillers; think Cocaine Bear and Cocaine Shark . This fits the Horror-Comedy subgenre. Several scenes in the film showcase the beauty of our mountains.
The film is shot in entirely in the Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania. Specifically in the region of Wellsboro.

Out of Hibernation
Winter became Spring. Production became Film. Set the date and come together; the magic is HAPPENING!
Months of excitement up on the BIG SCREEN. It has been a journey! Seeing it all come together; I was delighted and SURPRISED!

What’s in Wellsboro?
Catch the Fright of the Night; in a place where there’s always lights.
Highway to the Stars

Way back in 2012; I downloaded this cool new app called “Pinterest”. Endlessly scrolling; something caught my eye. “Stargazing the Milky Way in PA”. I “pinned” the idea. Cherry Springs State Park was added to my “Bucket List”. A few years later, it got saved into my Google Maps “Want to Go” list.

Back in the Spring, when we made plans. I Googled “Wellsboro”. On the map, nearby was a green “pin”. A place saved in my “Want to Go”…Cherry Springs State Park is only 45 minutes from Wellsboro. I love when things come together like this.
The Stars Align, literally
The premiere fell on the night of the New Moon. Perfect for Stargazing! After seeing our own star, of course.

PA Grand Canyon

Walk on the Wild Side of Pennsylvania
I’ll be 100% honest. I had NEVER heard of the PA Grand Canyon until a few months ago. I heard about it word of mouth. From a guy who has “scene” it! Having been to the real Grand Canyon in Arizona and Utah; I HAD to check this place out.
We planned to do the Turkey Trail. Which is a 2 Mile “out and back” descending to Pine Creek. With the fresh rainfall and steep descent; we explored other options.
We Overlook-ed it!
The Overlook Trail is one mile loop. Moderately steep in some spots. Our boots got muddy. A 30 minute hike that scratched the itch!

The Overlook Trail offers magnificent views of the PA Grand Canyon!
Downtown Wellsboro
I love a small-town hearty downtown area! Wellsboro is the epitome of small town shoppes and eats. There’s so many local events happening, too. The sense of community is alive and well-knit in Wellsboro!
Olde World Charm

Strolling through Main Street and East Street. It looked like a set out of a movie; filmed long ago. Shoppes and Department Stores. Mom and Pop Restaurants. Dives, Bars, and Candy Confectionery.
Stroll into a different Era
Our very first stop in Wellsboro was Dunhams Department Store. As we went in I said; “I haven’t been to a Department Store in 30 years”. It was like taking a step back into time!
Where are you going? And what do you wish?
“The Old Moon” asks in the classic children’s poem. The Wynken, Blynken, and Nod Statue is located at the edge of Downtown Wellsboro.

30 years ago; way back when there were Department Stores. My favorite childhood movie was “Dennis the Menace”. To this day; I know this movie so well.
Climb into The Canyon
We checked into The Canyon Motel. The room was spacious and clean. The room had these decorative accents. I began to notice the theme. All the lanterns. Gaslights. Even the room “key” was LIT!
One of the coolest features of Wellsboro PA is the use of gas lamps

I’ve traveled and been around to many small towns. West Virginia small towns AND Pennsylvania small towns. Wellsboro is different. Still clinging onto old charm. Yet it is so vibrant and full of life!
This town is THRIVING!
Less than a handful of “chain restaurants”. Only one big box retailer in town: TOPS Friendly Markets. A grocery chain found in the Seneca region of New York. I found bought some Chiavetta’s BBQ Marinade. In Pennsylvania! Yippee-Tioga!

Please, let’s come back at Christmas
I’ll always Celebrate the Season. The kitchy look, I love it! The Wellsboro Chamber of Commerce keeps the bright Christmas spirit alive. In December, there’s many merry events including; Dickens of a Christmas Celebration and Early 1940’s WWII Christmas Celebration.
Wellsboro: The Town That Saved Christmas
I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach.
