Braxton County is centered smack-dab in the middle of West Virginia. Home to a few local “Spooky Attractions”.
Recently, The Bigfoot Festival has become extremely popular.

We’d made last minute plans to go The Bigfoot Festival. From the advertised post; the festival consists of many vendors, storytellers, and “The Turtleman”.
“This Festival Sounds Different!”
Let’s Go!
I figured we’d walk around, meander a bit. Afterwards, go swimming somewhere.
Upon arrival; we found out that it was “pay at the gate” for parking:
- $10 for Cars
- $25 for Vans
- $75 for Busses
The Frugal Cheapskate couldn’t justify it. “Pay to get in, then walk around and spend more money”.

I’m not sure if the $10 was “worth it”. But, THOUSANDS went. I hope they enjoyed their day in Braxton County as much as we did!

Home to the Bigfoot Festival; Holly Gray Park is only 5 minutes away from Bee Run Recreational Area.
The Spot for Chill!
The Beach offers clear and pristine waters. Sandy shores. And.. coves of views for miles!
Boat Rentals; from kayaks to jet-skis, to pontoons. As well as bougie Houseboat Rentals! And affordable camping, too.
And a super nice playground for the kids!
Dogs are not permitted at the Bee Run Recreational Beach Area.
