“What is your favorite part of West Virginia?”
If someone were to ask me this question; My mind would wander to the New River Gorge Bridge area. NRG is likely the most popular destination in West Virginia. The bridge is iconic. It performs well in advertising. Likely displayed at least one billboard in your hometown. In a Gut-Instinct; NRG easily comes to my mind.
But, the truth is.. Seneca Rocks is majestic. A full display of Tuscarora Sandstone; in a special place where beauty is admirable. Something about it. Every time I see this large crag; I’m awestruck.

Vacation in the Homeland
The Potomac Valley will always hold a special place in my heart. My old stomping grounds. My hometown. It’s simply majestic.

“Farms, orchards, and fields of Green
Beside me, the Grass is spread,
Ridge and Mountains, always seen,
Majesty beside me, forever ahead.
The Potomac Valley, the wide Land
Guiding me with a gentle Hand,
Up the Banks, and along River Streams.
Climb up the Mountain,
Where the Sunshine Beams.
Up in the Spruce, Trees surround
As I gaze to the Valley down below,
Pasture and Meadow, all around,
Peace be with me, wherever I go.
Through all the places I have roamed,
I’ve found no place quite beautiful as HOME.”
