1. Google Lens

Plants, trees, shrubs, bugs, anything.. Google Lens has the answers to your questions (even the ones you can’t figure how to type out)!

Almost every single time I hike, I’ll find something unusual. An expert entomologist/arborist/botanist is tagging along; right in my pocket! It’s fascinating to identify the strange and neverbeforeseen.

2. FlightRadar24

Have you ever wondered where the planes ahead are flying?

At Mason Dixon park yesterday, among the vast fields. I couldn’t help but notice all the planes in the clear blue sky. At one point, there were over 40 visible planes ahead.

With the flight radar app, you can see all the planes in your GPS location. From there, you can select the plane. 

“That plane left Toronto and is going to Miami” 

“That’s a UPS cargo plane” 

“That little plane, with the tiny streaks; it’s a private jet”

3. Merlin

This app listens to birds! The next time you’re out in the quiet, and you hear a little “caw-caw”..Merlin will tell you what bird is singing! Then list all kinds of fascinating information about those beautiful creatures with wings.

4. Stellarium

Gather ‘round the bonfire! It’s a warm toasty fire to the chilly starry night. Break out your phone and simply point your phone upward! You can follow, navigate, and identify the entire sky! Zoom into infinity, with each constellation; all the way to a clustery galaxy.

5. Peak Finder AR

I live in the Mountain State. All around me, everyday; I see hills, knobs, and mountains. Each of these places have a special name!

This can be the start of a deep wormhole to go down! By identifying names; the history of the mountain can be revealed. Find out the name, discover the history!
