Dirtvert: Noun; A person whose personality is characterized by dirt, nature, and the great outdoors.

I’m not an introvert. Or an extrovert. Y’all can call me a “dirtvert”.

Guess what!
You might actually be a dirtvert too!

Here’s 15 tell-tale signs of a dirtvert:

  1. You appreciate the beauty of sunrise and sunset. And you typically see both each day. The difference is stark; and you enjoy the marvel.
  2. You love looking up close at plants and oddities that catch your attention. You’ve seen the “fur”. Those faint lines. Or the speckles. All the attention is in the details; and you see it!
  3. You gaze at mountain ranges and hillsides; the rivers and streams. The collision of two hills into a stream. Filled with wonder as you see the elevation difference between the river and the mountains. The descent and ascent of foothills is fascinating!
  4. Rocks are mesmerizing! From caves to cliffs, to that tiny cool rock you found last week. You’ve seen many formations; yet there’s always a new discovery. Rock on!
  5. You’ve watched a family of birds soar across the sky, then swoop into a tree miles away. Or watched a hawk feast on his lunch, perched on a branch. You’re captivated by the beauty of flying animals!
  6. The sky moves. You’ve personally witnessed the clouds rolling. There’s nothing like sitting atop a peak; watching the sky. The view is moving, literally!
  7. Your sense of direction is amazing! Sure. You’ve maybe got lost like, once or twice. But, 99% of the time; you have a general idea where you are and which way you’re headed.
  8. You love and appreciate trees and their leaves. The barren vastness in the Winter. The full bloom in the Summer. From the bark to the leaves; you adore tall, tall trees.
  9. A big sigh of fresh air. Whew! Outdoor air >indoor air. And you know this 100%. A light breeze makes it even better!
  10. The ground and whatever is covering the dirt. Grass grows in all shapes and colors. Not only grass; but moss, leaves, brush, snow, sand. The ground is so different in every place you go. The surface of God’s green Earth’s floors you!
  11. Animal tracks! You light up with delight when you come across animal tracks. From the usual deer tracks to unidentified ones that pique your curiosity. Finding tracks is where it’s at!
  12. Creeks, streams, and rivers. The flow. Watching the water ripples through the stones. The babbling sound. It’s rejuvenating!
  13. Bugs don’t bother you. Or being dirty. Or stinky. Or sweaty. You’re outside, submerged into your beautiful element. A little dirt doesn’t hurt!
  14. You’ve got many great stories that begin with the great outdoors! Whether it be a retelling of survival. Or a complete oddball story. You’ve made many great memories; and love sharing stories.
  15. Hiking is your favorite! Your bag is always packed and ready. You enjoy lacing up your boots and getting out the door. After a few days; you’re itching to go back into the woods. You seriously can’t get enough!

The woods are a special place.
