I would like to start out by saying, my only qualification for writing is losing 200+lbs.

I am NOT a Doctor or a health professional. I hold no degree or certificates. Only my own personal experience and struggles. My own trials and errors.

In 2021, I hit my rock bottom and said “I can’t keep living like this”.

I was ready.

That’s how my Mindset Journey started.

I want to help inspire others to get started with their journey as well! Everyone is different, and everyone has different goals.

But…

How much are you REALLY eating? That’s what got me to 370lbs. Drinking sweet tea all day, will put on the pounds!

Of course, you gotta get Mcdonalds for a weekend breakfast! Steak, egg, and Cheese combo with sprite and apple pie, 1330 calories. And what else for the weekend? Margaritas, tacos, pizza, cheesecake? 

Mindlessly indulging in food and not giving any thought to what is in the ingredients, how many calories, how much you ate, and how many grams of sugar- It’s bliss. Ignorance is bliss. And if you ignore it too long, it WILL catch up with you until you fix the problem. Once we realize what the problem is, we can fix it. Take a hard look at daily eating habits, take in account for all the calories you’re drinking too.

All the little snacks, and treats.

It adds up. 

Your body is only able to sustain what it puts in. I figured out that between my meals, and drinks, I was consuming close to 4000 calories a day.

I saw this on a TV show, 

YOUR  BODY NEEDS 10 CALORIES PER POUND. SO IF YOU WANT TO WEIGH 150LBS, EAT 1500 CALORIES! IF YOU WANT TO WEIGH 300LBS EAT 3000 CALORIES! 

My plan is this simple:

Up to 2 protein shakes or bars, per day (300 to 400 cal)

( Do NOT drink diet sodas or crystal light during this time, as it promotes hunger)

1 meal (500 to 800 calories)

1 Snack after meal (300 to 400 calories)

My goal weight is 150, based on my 5’7” frame.

I try to stay at or around 1500 per day, based on my height and activity level. Everyone is different. You may need more or less. On days that I am very active (10,000 or more steps), I eat closer to 1700 or 1800.
