What should I bring to the WV Celtic Festival?

Our very first visit to the Celtic Festival; we really did not know what to expect! This was an unplanned adventure. Which I hope to provide some 20/20 hindsight tips!

This is an “all-day” type festival.

Plan to spend ALL DAY here!

  • Lawn Chairs
  • Cash
  • Sunblock

There’s all kinds of themes of festivals. But there’s two types:

Stop and Listen

This would be an ideal festival for camping on Friday night, then spending the entire day Saturday. Camping is available!

Or plan to get there early Saturday! Either way, THIS festival is meant to be enjoyed. Spend the Day!

Is the Celtic Festival good for Kids?

Yes! The WV Celtic Festival is family friendly. Bring the kiddos! They will enjoy many activities such as;

  • Highland Cows
  • FREE Face Painting
  • Story Telling
  • Pet Parade
  • Four Leaf Clover Hunt
  • Hula Hoop Class
  • Kids Highland Games

Is the WV Celtic Festival Dog Friendly?

Yes! This is likely the most dog-friendly festival I’ve ever visited. The festival grounds provide plenty for pets! Visit the Pet Cooling Area. On the grounds, you’ll find two doggie swimming pools, crates, and ample drinking water.

At this festival, you’ll find yourself in the company of lots of dogs! As well as pleasant owners. And lots of shady cooling tents. Seriously. Everyone was so nice! And the organizers are so thoughtful!

Everything you need to know before heading to the WV Celtic Festival:

I would like to point out the GPS/Google Maps incident. If you’re pulling into a driveway; you’re not quite there yet!

The Festival is VISIBLE from the Road

Stay on Kings Run Road; do not turn onto Walnut Grove Lane as Google Maps indicates.

Parking is Free!

There’s a large hay field, at the very edge of the grounds. Park your car and walk. Or ride the shuttle bus.

Tickets can be purchased ahead of time for a discounted rate. At the gate; $15 for adults. Children under 6, FREE.

Bring CASH! There’s so many craft and food Vendors. You’ll need money for wooden swords and shortbread.

Bring sunblock and lawn chairs. Stop, listen and enjoy!

The WV Celtic Festival is an all-day “thing”. Bring your kids, and your dogs; stop and enjoy!
