Planning the Adventure
Splash & Burn
This trip was pretty much on a whim!
We packed, planned, and left for this trip in under 45 minutes.
One Fall Monday morning; making deliveries. I couldn’t help but to notice the trees. The Autumn glory was in it’s fullest. The beauty the unmasks.

“We better go“
“The leaves may be gone next week”
Dig Deeper, Swim Faster
Seize the day.
Let’s go!

Our starting point was Morgantown, WV. Ideally; This is a two day roadtrip/loop . Drive towards Summersville, WV; plan to start from that area before 9:00am.

The earlier you start; the more time you’ll have to enjoy!

Stop, Drop, and Roll Coal
Make the Stops. See the Drops.
Roll into the Coalfields.
These stops are in order. The iternary for the loop. Roadtrip ready and Mapped out!
A Way to Spend the Day!
#1: Hawks Nest State Park
Situated Northwest of New River Gorge Bridge National Park; Hawks Nest is a great place to get this Roadtrip started!

#2: Twin Falls Resort State Park
Twin Falls Resort State Park really shines! Its a great park for a day trip. So much to see and do. And the most friendliest folks!
We stayed the night in Twin Falls Resort.
I wish I could recommend a stay. However, I think Pipestem State Park would be a better choice for lodging.

Enjoy a breakfast at Tudor’s Biscuit World in Pineville!
They’ve got Chocolate Milk.
#3: Itmann Company Store
Deep into the heart of Coal Country is a castle in the Coalfields. Explore this abandoned company store.
Be sure to wear your boots!

#4: Camp Creek State Park
Continue through Southern West Virginia; through the Coal Mining Towns.

#5: Pipestem State Park
Just “up the Mountain” from Camp Creek.

#6: Bluestone State Park
Right down the hill from Pipestem.

#7: Sandstone Falls
Keep North on Rt. 20. toward Hinton, WV

#8: Grandview
End the trip with the best view!

Thanks For Giving
West Virginia has so much indigenous history. Pipestem being one. Seneca Rocks is another.

Seneca Rocks, WV
Many towns and geographic locations were named before.
In History, from a timeline perspective; it’s interesting how we became a nation.

In America; “One Nation under God”. The land was tribes and territories. There are many misrepresentations and lost history.

Present-Day: Modern Times. We’ve got roads, cars, and means to travel.
It hadn’t always been this easy.
Throughout History, People made journies. For food, for work, for family. From comfort to unknown; A refuge of safety.
Travel is magical.
Adventure is out there!
Generations before us have endured many hardships. In today’s times; We face different battles than those in history. However, the principles always remain the same. The battle fought is something we take into our own hands. It is a choice.
Onward and upward!
Love the people, for the people.
One Love. One Heart.
Give Thanks and Praise to the Lord.
Let’s get together and feel all right ❤️
